Chir pine (Pinus roxburghii), also known as longleaf Indian pine, is a species of pine in the family Pinaceae , and is native to the Himalayas. Its leaves are very slender, long, needle-like, in fascicles of three and distinctly yellowish green. The cones are ovoid conic and green at first, ripening glossy chestnut-brown. The seeds are with wings and are wind-dispersed.
