Sophocles is a famous ancient Greek writer, one of tragedians whose plays have survived. For almost 50 years, Sophocles was the most celebrated playwright in Athens. His famous plays are: Ajax, Antigone, The Women of Trachis, Oedipus Rex, Electra, Philoctetes and Oedipus at Colonus.
