Santa Fe, NM, USA - August 20, 2016: A Native American family sits near an adobe wall at the 2016 Santa Fe Indian Market. One of the girls wears a traditional native dress. The market, now in its 95th year, is spread out all around the historic Santa Fe Plaza, showcasing North American Indigenous arts and culture. About 1,000 artists from 220 tribes participate in the two-day event.
Powwows are celebrations where First Nations gather to honour and share their rich heritage and traditions with music, dance and beautifully vibrant regalia. There were vendors with handmade leather work, drums, jewelry, t-shirts 'every child matters', bannock, salmon. The general public is welcome.
