$The wood sandpiper (Tringa glareola) is a small wader. This Eurasian species is the smallest of the shanks, which are mid-sized long-legged waders of the family Scolopacidae. The genus name Tringa is the Neo-Latin name given to the green sandpiper by Aldrovandus in 1599 based on Ancient Greek trungas, a thrush-sized, white-rumped, tail-bobbing wading bird mentioned by Aristotle. I saw this redshank on a pasture near the salt marshes on Amrum. The long legs underlined the stouting. The inconspicuous plumage was an excellent camouflage in contrast to the eye-catching legs. The red of the legs contrasted well with the green of the plants.

Mantis is a type of mantis originating from the island of Borneo. It has a unique body shape and is colored like dried leaves to disguise itself for prey.
