The wild rose (Rosa canina) is a thorny, deciduous shrub in the Rosaceae family, native to Europe, northwestern Africa, and western Asia. It has also been introduced to North America and other parts of the world. Currently its distribution is quite wide.

It yields edible hip fruits rich in vitamin C, which are used in medicine[4] and to produce rose hip syrup. Thanks to unpretentiousness and winter hardiness it is used in gardening of cities.

It is also known as Medical Plant.$
