This bronze statue, placed in front of the Forum of Augustus, is a copy of the marble original currently preserved in the Vatican Museums. Caesar Augustus was the first Roman emperor, revered as father of the homeland (Patri Patriae) and artecife of a long period of domination, prosperity and peace throughout the empire, known as Pax Romana or Pax Augustea.
