In Winter there are large Flocks to be seen, which gives a spectacular view in the Sky.

A Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) singing in a bush at the San Jacinto Wildlife Area in Riverside County, Southern California.  The Northern Mockingbird is a member of a small New World family (Mimidae) of about 30 species, including other mockingbirds, thrashers, catbirds, and tremblers.  This bird is common and widespread and ranges from the mid United States to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico.  As the scientific name implies (Mimus polyglottos= “many-tongued mimic”), the Northern Mockingbird is an extremely accomplished repeater of practically any sound that it hears, whether it be another bird or mechanical noises.

The Pine Siskin (Spinus pinus) is a North American bird in the finch family.  In Northern Arizona they are a common feeder bird throughout the winter.  This bird was photographed while hanging onto a branch at Walnut Canyon Lakes in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.

This medium sized hummingbird displays many different colors depending on the angle of the light.  In this case the crown in very evident.
