(Saxifraga bronchialis ssp. austromontana) Spotted Saxifrage is also known at Yellowdot saxifrage and Prickly Saxifrage. There are two subspecies in the Pacific Northwest austromontana with lanceolate leaves and vespertina with rounded, spoon-like leaves. These plants grow in the alpine regions of Mount Rainier in scree or rocky slopes. They reproduce by rhizomes.
