Sharksucker Echeneis naucrates is found in inshore as well as offshore in tropical and warm temperate waters at depths from 20-50 m (66-164 ft). Although known for attaching to a variety of hosts including sharks, rays, large bony fishes, sea turtles and marine mammals as well as sometimes ships, the sharksucker is often observed in free-swimming groups over shallow coral reefs. This species is dependent upon their hosts for survival as they are a poor swimmer and lack a swim bladder. This specimen is attached to thecarapace of a Green Turtle Chelonia midas. This powerful black-and-white photograph captures the stark reality of nature's cycle through the close-up of a fish skeleton. The image focuses on the head and spine, highlighting the detailed textures of the scales and bones, which are starkly contrasted against the soft, blurred background. The fish’s eye, now hollow, speaks to the absence of life, while the skeletal remains suggest a narrative of survival and the passage of time. The monochromatic palette intensifies the raw, evocative quality of the image, allowing the viewer to contemplate the fragility of life and the inevitable return to the elements.

Golden Damsel Amblyglyphidodon aureus occurs in the tropical Western Pacific from Andaman Sea and Christmas Island in the Eastern Indian Ocean to Fiji, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to Rowly Shoals and New Caledonia in a depth range from 3-45m, max. length 13cm.\nJuveniles in small groups are often found among large sea fans. Adults occur in steep outer reef, occasionally in deep lagoons and along channel walls, usually in current prone habitats and where there are abundant gorgonian and long sea-whip corals on which they lay and guard eggs. The species feeds on zooplankton. \nMost of the time, a fish's behavior depends on its species. From time to time it is possible to meet exceptions, like this specimen, a very curious character, not shy at all, who kept looking at the camera.\nTriton Bay, Indonesia, 3°54'52.0617 S 134°7'21.3867 E at 9m depth

This specimen was photographed during a night dive while standing motionless. It would have been more difficult during the day. The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific from Africa to Japan and Australia (but not in the Red Sea or the Arabian Gulf) widely around coral reefs to a maximum depth of 60 m. Pterocaesio tile grows up to a max. length of 30 cm, the common length is 20 cm. Juveniles occasionally appear in large numbers in shallow lagoons and on reef flats. This species feeds on zooplankton in midwater aggregations and is a typical Tuna baitfish. Palau, 7°4'54.456 N 134°15'43.506 E at 12m depth

Exotic fish in the waters around the Island of Corfu, Greece. Corfu, or Korkyra, lies to the west of the Greek and Albanian mainland and separates the Adriatic from the Ionian Seas. Largely formed from Limestone, the island measuring some thirty miles by 18 miles is now a tourist destination, known for its beaches, climate and olives. Medieval castles and ancient ruins chart the military history of the island back to ancient Greek mythology.
