Cornus kousa, commonly called Japanese dogwood, Kousa, and Kousa dogwood, is native to East Asia and is a small, deciduous flowering tree, with bloom occurring from late spring to early summer (May-June). Kousa dogwood “flowers” are four petal-like white bracts which surround the center cluster of yellowish-green, true flowers.
