The Memorial to Robert Gould Shaw by Augustus Saint-Gaudens opposite the State Capitol Building on Boston Common). Robert Gould Shaw is seen leading members of the 54th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry 1863. The sculpture was unveiled on May 31, 1897. the first civic monument to pay homage to the heroism of African American soldiers.

The sculpture is by Augustus Saint-Gaudens who created it on May 31, 1897. It is located opposite 24 Beacon Street, next to the Boston Common. It is part of the historic Freedom Trail.

Standing portrait statue of Lafayette as he speaks to the French National Assembly in an effort to get assistance for the Americans and their fight for independence.  Captured in the spring with blooming flowers and blossoms, this monument is located in Lafayette park next door to the White House.
The long grassy National Mall is home to iconic monuments. At the eastern end is the domed U.S. Capitol, and the White House is to the north.
Washington DC USA Dec 2, 2012: An equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson by Clark Mills (September 1, 1815 – January 12, 1883) stands in Lafayette Park, just across from the White House.\n\nThe1853 statue depicts Andrew Jackson mounted on a horse, rearing up on its hind legs. This dynamic pose is particularly notable because it was one of the first equestrian statues in the world to be cast with the horse balanced on its hind legs, supported by the tail.\n\nThe cannon in front of the statue base is one captured by Jackson from the Spanish at Pensacola, FL in 1818.

Joseph Hooker was an American Civil War general for the Union, chiefly remembered for his decisive defeat by Confederate General Robert E. Lee at the Battle of Chancellorsville in 1863. The Massachusetts State House is the state capitol and seat of government for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston.
