A very well focussed male Scots Pine flower almost fully opened. The background is dark, natural and blurring towards the rear. Scots Pine are Gymnosperms. The male flowers produce incredibly tiny spores which are distributed on the wind in vast quantities. The female flower, once fertilised, produces the familiar pine cones. The seeds are enclosed inside the cones. The white specks on the needles are spores which didn't blow away.
