Wolfsnout Goby Luposicya lupus occurs in the Indo-West Pacific from Pinda in Mozambique to Indonesia, north to Japan and south/east to Tonga in a depth range from 0-15m, max. length 3.5cm. The species inhabits large sponges, usually on the underside of floppy or fan types that grow on shallow reef flats and down on slopes that are subject to moderate currents. \nThis specimen was encountered even a bit deeper than the usual max. depth at 17m. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia \n3°54'59.5859 S 134°6'6.4748 E at 17m depth

Big Blue Octopus Octopus cyanea occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific from eastern Africa to the Hawaiian Islands in a depth range from 0-150m, max. mantle length 22cm with arms to at least 80 cm. \nBig blue octopuses are found living in muddy, sandy, or rocky bottoms, and in seagrass beds. They create lairs or dens in crevices or coral rubbles within coral reefs. These dens aren't used for long term; on average individuals spend up to 35 days in one den. The average lifespan of big blue octopuses is 12 to 15 months.\nThis juvenile specimen was encountered in the Triton Bay, Indonesia \n3°54'41.052 S 134°7'18.204 E at 12m depth

The Star Puffer (Arothron stellatus) is a species of pufferfish that inhabits coral reefs and rocky areas in the Indo-Pacific region. As a juvenile, it displays a distinctive pattern of white spots against a dark background, resembling stars. As it matures, the spots become smaller and less prominent, and the fish develops a more uniform coloration of dark brown or black. This species is known for its ability to inflate its body when threatened, making it difficult for predators to swallow.

Papuan Scorpionfish Scorpaenopsis papuensis occurs in the tropical Pacific Ocean from Indonesia and the Philippines to the Society Islands, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to the Great Barrier Reef and Fiji in a depth range from 1-40m, max. length 25cm, common 20cm. Scorpion fishes rarely swim, but rather move along the bottom propelling themselves with their fins. As ambush hunters, they use the camouflage as a hunting skill to prey on unsuspecting fish and invertebrates. The outline of Scorpionfishes often disappears almost completey. This is a part of the left pectoral fin with sophisticated camouflage pattern. \nTriton Bay, Indonesia, 3°54'2.544 S 134°6'23.862 E at 9m depth by night.
