Eriodictyon californicum is a species of plant within the family Boraginaceae. It is also known as yerba santa (sacred herb), mountain balm, bear's weed, gum bush, gum plant, and consumptive weed. Modini Mayacamas Preserve in the Mayacamas Mountain Range in Sonoma County of California.

Weigela florida is a dense, rounded, deciduous shrub that typically grows to 2-3 meter tall, native to Japan, northern China and Korea. Branching is somewhat coarse, and branches on mature shrubs tend to arch toward the ground. Funnel-shaped, rose-pink flowers bloom profusely in spring, with a sparse and scattered repeat bloom often occurring in mid to late summer.

Pieris japonica, also called Japanese andromeda and Japanese pieris, is a broadleaf evergreen shrub, featuring drooping clusters of lily-of-the-valley-like flowers in early spring. Many cultivars are available, featuring flowers in various shades of white, pink and deep rose. The plant is poisonous if consumed by people or animals.

Symphytum officinale is a perennial flowering plant in the family Boraginaceae. Also known as Quaker comfrey, cultivated comfrey, boneset, knitbone, consound, and slippery-root.   Over centuries, comfrey was cultivated in Asia, Europe, and the United Kingdom as a vegetable and herbal medicine, used in poultices of leaves and roots to treat sprains, bruises or bone fractures.  Internal or long-term topical use of comfrey is discouraged due to its strong potential to cause liver toxicity.
Tricyrtis hirta, Load lily, hairy load lily or Japanese toad lily is a Japanese species of hardy perennial plant in the lily family. Its star-like flowers are white with rich purple spots and purple stigmas. It blooms in late summer to mid-autumn on arching stems.
