Bryce Canyon is not actually a canyon, but rather a collection of giant natural amphitheatres along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in southwestern Utah. It is well known for its large amount off bizarre rock spires and pinnacles known as Hoodoos, which formed from the erosion of the limestone of the Claron Formation. Legend though claims that these pinnacles were people, who were so bad and evil that the Coyote turned them to stone.

In an area so dry it would seem impossible to live, they built pueblos, harvested rainwater, grew crops and raised families. Today the remnants of their villages dot the landscape. Wupatki Pueblo is in Wupatki National Monument, established in 1924 to preserve this rich heritage. Wupatki National Monument is near Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
