Argemone Mexicana, also known as Mexican Prickly Poppy, is an upright, prickly, annual or perennial, boasting its bright yellow, poppy-like flowers, with numerous yellow or reddish stamens. Blooming for weeks from mid-spring to early summer, the showy flowers sit atop slightly prickly stems. The bluish-green leaves are toothed, spiny and adorned with gray-white veins.

Oxalis pes-caprae, also known as Bermuda buttercup, African wood-sorrel, Bermuda sorrel, Buttercup oxalis, Cape sorrel, English weed, Sourgrass and Soursop, is a species of flowering plant in the wood sorrel family Oxalidaceae. When the sun is shining, the flowers are open and, without the sunlight, the flowers are closed. A branch of an Adesmia shrub,  probably Adesmia confuse, flowering in spring in the Andes near Santiago de Chile. The Adesmia genus, related to the dead and beans, has numerous representatives in southern south America, many endemic to Chile, but the taxonomy and distribution of the group is not well understood.
