Men in traditional clothes carry flaming torches during the ancient Christmas event called 'Ndocciata, celebrated in Agnone, city in the Molise region of Southern Italy. In this religious celebration, a great number of “‘ndocce” (torches) are carried in a typical fan shape along the main town road. The carriers start with only one torch, then bring each up to 24 fires, each about four metres high. The celebration ends with a bonfire in the town sqare.
