The Pine Siskin (Spinus pinus) is a North American bird in the finch family. In Northern Arizona they are a common feeder bird throughout the winter. This bird was photographed while hanging onto a branch at Walnut Canyon Lakes in Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.

Female brown-headed cowbird, scourge of other birds and of people who watch and feed birds, because it is literally a parasite. The female cowbird builds no nest. Instead, she sneaks onto the nests of other birds, often throws out their eggs, and lays her own in their place.
