Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany: the Boeing 747-8 is powered by General Electric GEnx-2B67 engines, which are advanced, high-bypass turbofans designed to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. These engines generate about 66,500 pounds of thrust each, providing the 747-8 with the power needed for long-haul flights while being significantly quieter and more environmentally friendly compared to earlier 747 models. The GEnx engines incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as composite fan blades, a lighter fan case, and advanced aerodynamics, which reduce fuel consumption by about 15% compared to the 747-400 - Lufthansa Boeing 747-830, registration D-ABYI, MSN 37833 - Frankfurt Main Airport.
