Aspendos, also known as Aspendus, is an ancient Greco-Roman city located in Antalya Province, Turkey. It's situated about 40 kilometers east of the modern city of Antalya, on the Eurymedon River. Aspendos is renowned for its well-preserved Roman theater, which is one of the best examples of Roman architecture in Asia Minor

The Aspendos Theatre in Turkey is a remarkably well-preserved Roman-era theater, known for its excellent condition and architectural integrity. Built in 155 AD under Emperor Marcus Aurelius, it features a horseshoe-shaped seating area carved into a hillside, a magnificent stage building, and once seated approximately 13,000 spectators, with modern events accommodating over 20,000. It is considered one of the most intact and distinguished examples of Roman theater architecture in the world.

Aspendos theater is being visited by tourists.Aspendos Theater, one of magnificent structures of its period, was able to take 7.000 -8.000 people. It was built by architecture Zeno, son of Theodoras, in the period of Emperor Marcus Aurelius (A.C. 161-180). It is understood from the inscriptions at both side of entrance in Latin and Greek that it was made by two rich brothers named Curtius Crispinus and Curtius Auspicatus.
