The entrance door to Block 10 at Auschwitz I, a notorious barracks used by the Nazis for a variety of purposes, including as a prison block and a location for medical experiments on prisoners. Block 10 was one of the most infamous buildings at Auschwitz, where many suffered under the hands of Nazi doctors like Josef Mengele. Now part of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, this door serves as a haunting reminder of the brutal and inhumane treatment of those imprisoned during the Holocaust.

A haunting view of the barracks at Auschwitz II-Birkenau in Oswiecim, Poland, the largest of the Nazi concentration and extermination camps during the Holocaust. These barracks were overcrowded and lacked basic necessities, housing thousands of prisoners under inhumane conditions. Between 1942 and 1944, more than a million people, primarily Jews, were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where many were forced into grueling labor or sent to their deaths in the camp’s gas chambers. This site is now a Holocaust memorial and museum, serving as a reminder of the atrocities committed during World War II.

Auschwitz, Poland - March 28, 2008: Main gate of Auschwitz-Birkenau (Auschwitz I) concentration camp in Poland, where 1.1 million people where killed (90% Jews) by the Nazi army during the World War II (1940-1945). The Soviet troop liverated the camp on January 27 in 1945. In the following decades it became a symbol of the Holocaust. In 1947, Poland founded a museum on the site of Auschwitz I and II, and in 1979 it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
