Miradouro da Boca do Inferno (Sete Cidades). Island Sao Miguel

The island of Faial has a volcanic structure that dates back 400 thousand years. In its center is the Caldeira do Faial, a caldera of large diameter and depth covered with vascular flora endemic to the Azores. Next to the southern edge of the caldera is the highest point of the island of Faial, Cabeço Gordo with its 1043 meters. From Caldeira do Faial, on bright, clear days, the view is magnificent. You can see the island of São Jorge and the island of Pico with its 2351 m high mountain, the highest in all of Portugal.
