Saigon / Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: the Saigon Colonial City Hall, now the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Building, is a French colonial landmark in central Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Constructed from 1902 to 1908 by architect Fernand Gardès and inaugurated in 1909, it draws inspiration from European town halls. Features three broken pediments with sculptures on its facade, each depicting Marianne, the personification of the French Republic, symbolizing liberty, equality, and fraternity. These were created by sculptor Louis-Lucien Ruffier (active 1898–1907 under architect Fernand Gardès.
