A coastal landscape near La Spezia showcases a rocky outcrop in the foreground, with a distant view of a city across the water. The sea is calm, and the rocky formation adds texture to the scene. The cityscape in the distance provides a sense of scale and location.

San Pietro is the first historical monument seen by the visitor upon arriving to Porto Venere by boat. It looks like a castle but it is only a church dating from the 13th century. Its façade has the traditional bands of the Ligurian style of the time. The church occupies an exceptional site, perched on a cape that juts out over the Mediterranean.
