( Tipula paludosa) The European Crane fly has a gray tan body and wings which don't extend beyond the ends of the abdomen. This species is bivoltine meaning they have two broods a year. They are common in lawns too. The larvae are sod pests. They feed on rotting vegetation on land and in the water.
