A large school of Yellowmask Surgeonfishes Acanthurus mata. Adults inhabit steep slopes, often in turbid waters, generally in the vicinity of coral reefs or rocky bottoms like these specimen. They form resident spawning aggregations. Adults are often seen in schools, feeding mid-water on plankton. Max. 50 cm, depth range 5-100m. There are some Sleek Unicornfish Naso hexacanthus and Sixbar Angelfishes Pomacanthus sexstriatus. A lot of Black Sun Coral Tubastrea micranta at the bottom.\nDramai Rock, Westpapua, Indonesia 4°2'33.4058 S 134°14'12.0248 E at 8m depth

Schools of Yellowmask Surgeonfishes Acanthurus mata and Slender Pinjalo Pinjalo lewisi: \nAdult Acanthurus mata inhabit steep slopes, often in turbid waters, generally in the vicinity of coral reefs or rocky bottoms like these specimen. They form resident spawning aggregations. Adults are often seen in schools, feeding mid-water on plankton. Max. 50 cm, depth range 5-100m. \nPinjalo lewisi often form schools and inhabits reefs and rocky bottoms. The species feeds on benthic and planktonic invertebrates and possibly on small fishes. Pinjalo lewisi occurs from Laccadive Islands to Fiji, north to the Ryukyu Islands usually in a depth range from 20-150m. On this remote location near the open ocean in unusually shallow less than 10m depth. \nDramai Rock, Westpapua, Indonesia 4°2'33.4058 S 134°14'12.0248 E at 10m depth
A Longfin spadefish swims over a shallow, biodiverse reef in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. This tropical region is known as the heart of the Coral Triangle due to its incredible marine biodiversity.

Clownfish or anemonefish are fishes that, in the wild, form symbiotic mutualisms with sea anemones and are unaffected by the stinging tentacles of the host anemone.

A school of silver fish with streamlined bodies and forked tails swim in unison against the backdrop of clear blue ocean water. The sunlight penetrates the water surface, illuminating the scales of the fish and casting soft shadows. The fish are swimming in a close, underwater perspective, creating a sense of depth and motion. The clear water allows for a clear view of the fish’s streamlined bodies and the way they move in unison.

A large school of Humpback Red Snappers Lutjanus gibbus: The species occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific Ocean in a depth range from 1-150m, max. length 50cm, common 45cm. Adults mainly inhabit coral reefs, sometimes like these specimens forming large aggregations, which are mostly stationary during the day. It is not easy to approach a school of Humpback Red Snappers, as this species has a well-spaced escape distance. \nThe Black sun coral Tubastraea micranthus dominates the ocean floor. The colonies grow up to 1m high and to 15 cm diameter at the stem base. Usually colonies are fan-shaped with 1 to 3 cm thick branches perpendicular to the prevalent current. This is a azooxanthellate species, that do not contain zooxanthellae and derive nourishment not from the sun but from capturing different forms of plankton.\nDramai Rock, Triton Bay, West Papua Province, Indonesia, \n4°2'33.408 S 134°14'12.024 E at 14m depth
