The conspicuous yellow spot on S7 identifies males and most females through binoculars.Occurrence:Generally uncommon; populations are usually local and small. The most thermophilus Leucorrhinia, with a relative southern range.Habitat:Generally inhabits less acidic and nutrient poor places than L. dubia and L. rubicunda, preferring marshy borders to bogs, forest lakes, fenlands, marshy ditches.Vegetation is typically lush and varied, with both emergent and submerged species.
