Egyptian Geese are more often encountered in middle Europe due to global warming

Selective focus is on the sharp orange eye. Egyptian geese are regularly seen around the ponds and lakes of London, and have been since the 1980s. They suffer the same dual personality problems as other water birds, looking out anxiously for their young whilst checking out people in case they are carrying bread. all of which calls for a sharp eye.

Related to the Shelduck, this pale brown and grey goose has distinctive dark brown eye-patches and contrasting white wing patches in flightSeen frequently on ornamental ponds where it was originally brought. Now can be seen on gravel pits and lowland lakes and wetlands. The north Norfolk coast holds the highest numbers; also in areas like the Norfolk Broads.

The Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) is an African member of the duck family Anatidae. Because of their popularity chiefly as an ornamental bird, the species has also been introduced to Europe, United States and elsewhere outside their natural range. Egyptian geese were regularly representated in ancient Egyptian art.
