Ganoderma lucidum is a red-colored species of Ganoderma with a limited distribution in Europe and parts of China, where it grows on decaying hardwood trees.

Habitat on dead deciduous trees, especially beech. Season all year (sporulating in late spring). Frequent. Not edible. Found In Europe.\n\nThis group of Wood Fungi grew on a weathered Trunk of Beech (Fagus sylvatica) in a Beech Lane. It is a common Species in the Netherlands.$
