A rufous tailed jacamar waiting for insects in the rain forest. Also known as a king hummingbird due to their resemblance, despite being unrelated
The female and male have such different plumages that they appear to be two separate species (sexual dimorphism).\n\nIt is usually seen against the light, so that the male appears to be all black. In fact, only the chest, belly and throat are blue-black, while the rest of the plumage is a deep bottle green. The tail is all dark wine-colored, finely edged with black. Sometimes it can be seen half-open and the light, passing through it, allows this reddish tone to be perceived. The beak is very long and thin, almost twice the length of the head, and has a slightly downward-curving tip, in a characteristic silhouette. The membrane over the nostrils is feathered to the middle; the tail is about half the length of the wing and is wide and slightly indented.\n\nThe female shares the shape of the beak and the color of the tail with the male. Apart from this, the long black stripe that starts at the base of the beak and ends on the belly, flanked by wide white bands, stands out. The rest of the plumage is light green. Individuals can measure 11 to 12 cm in length.\n\nThe young, like the female, have white-margined feathers on their backs.

Theristicus caudatus, also known as the white-throated ibis.
Hadada Ibis.\nThe hadeda ibis (Bostrychia hagedash) is an ibis native to Sub-Saharan Africa. It is named for its loud three to four note calls uttered in flight especially in the mornings and evenings when they fly out or return to their roost trees. Although not as dependent on water as some ibises, they are found near wetlands and often live in close proximity to humans, foraging in cultivated land and gardens. A medium-sized ibis with stout legs and a typical down-curved bill, the wing coverts are iridescent with a green or purple sheen. They are non-migratory but are known to make nomadic movements in response to rain particularly during droughts. Their ranges in southern Africa have increased with an increase in tree cover and irrigation in human-altered habitats.
Beautiful Barred antshrike perched on a branch against natural defocused background, Pantanal Wetlands, Mato Grosso, Brazil
Small bird, its average size is 21.5 to 28.5 cm (males) and 22 to 25 cm (females). It weighs between 110 and 285 g (males) and between 150 and 265 g (females). It has a round head, without plumes and the eyes are arranged side by side, in the same plane. The eyebrows are white and the eyes are yellow. The coloration is earthy, mimetic, and may present plumage in rusty tones caused by purple earth soils (adventitious coloration). Unlike most owls, the male is slightly larger than the female and females are normally darker than males, particularly on the face. It has a smooth and silent flight. She has to turn her neck, because her big eyes are arranged side by side in the same plane. This frontal arrangement gives the owl binocular vision (it sees an object with both eyes at the same time). This means that the owl can see objects in three dimensions, that is, height, width and depth. The eyes of the burrowing owl are very large, in some subspecies of owls they are even larger than the brain itself, in order to improve its efficiency in low light conditions, better capturing and processing the available light.
