The cathedral of Santa Maria de Girona is located at the highest point of the city; it has the widest Gothic nave in the world, with a total width of 22.98 metres. Its construction began in the 11th century in Romanesque style, followed by Gothic in the 13th century, preserving only the Romanesque cloister from the 12th century and the tower from the same period dating from 1040; it was completed in the 18th century. It is an Asset of Cultural Interest.

The church of Sant Felix or Sant Feliu is a basilica located in the city of Girona, dating back to early Christian times. It houses the offices of the Major Parish of Sant Feliu of the Bishopric of Girona, so called because it was the main church of Girona before the construction of the cathedral.4 Its construction, in honour of the martyr Saint Felix, lasted from the 12th to the 17th century and conserves a large part of the Romanesque building, later completed with the Gothic naves and roofs and the Baroque façade. The main attraction is made up of eight extraordinary Roman and early Christian sarcophagi from the 3rd and 4th centuries,5 found when the church was built, together with the Gothic
