Gozo is an island in the Maltese archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. The island is part of the Republic of Malta. After the island of Malta itself, it is the second-largest island in the archipelago. Gozo is rural in character and less developed than the island of Malta.

Gozo is an island in the Mediterranean Sea, one of the 21 islands that make up the Maltese archipelago. Inhabited for thousands of years, it bears witness to past immigration and rule by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Sicilians, French, and British, among others. The island is known for the remains of the Neolithic temples of Ġgantija, its rural hiking trails, beaches, and scuba diving sites.

Dwejra is a small location on the West coast of the island of Gozo, known for its “inland sea” (small bay surrounded by high cliffs) and as the site where the Azure Window (naturally formed rock arch on the coast) once stood proudly.

Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, situated above Mġarr Harbour in Gozo, Malta. It was built in 1888 and officially opened in 1893. It was designed by architect Giuseppe Bonavia in the neo-Gothic style, inspired by the Marian apparitions reported in Lourdes, France, in 1858. The site was chosen to overlook the harbor, providing a symbolic watch over the arrival and departure of ships. The church was originally intended to serve the pastoral needs of workers and travelers associated with the harbor. Over time, it became a prominent pilgrimage site, especially on the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes, celebrated annually on February 11.
