Constructed with materials imported from France, including red bricks from Toulouse, it features two 57-meter bell towers added in 1895, each topped with a cross and housing six bronze bells. Elevated to basilica status in 1962, it serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Saigon, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, and symbolizes Vietnam's colonial heritage and Catholic presence.
