In 1908, when the ownership of the building was transferred to Grand Vizier Sait Pasha, the passage was named “Sait Pasha Passage”.\nAfter a while, florists settled in the passage and started to use it as a flower auction place. Therefore, the name was changed to “Flower Passage”.\nToday, there are more restaurants, shops and various shops.$

The museum is housed in a historically significant building located near the southern edge of the Hippodrome, along the Sphendone walls in Sultanahmet. The structure's origins date back to the Ottoman period, forming part of the Sultanahmet Külliye commissioned by Sultan Ahmed I and designed by architect Sedefkar Mehmed Ağa. In the early 20th century, the building housed the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests, and Mines. It later served as the Istanbul Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy before becoming the rectorate building for Marmara University - (Marmara Universitesi Cumhuriyet Muzesi)
