HUALIEN, TAIWAN - APRIL 3, Rocks fall from a hillside onto a road as the Driving Recorder recorded a major earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scales off the waters east of Taiwan on April 3, 2024 in Hualien, Taiwan. On 11 March 2011, an earthquake hit Japan with a magnitude of 9.0, the biggest in the nation's recorded history and one of the five most powerful recorded ever around the world. Within an hour of the earthquake, towns which lined the shore were flattened by a massive tsunami, caused by the energy released by the earthquake. With waves of up to four or five metres high, they crashed through civilians homes, towns and fields.

The Kumamoto earthquakes occurred one after another in Kumamoto and Oita prefectures after 21:26 on April 14, 2016.\nIn the Japan Meteorological Agency seismic intensity class, earthquakes observing the highest seismic intensity 7 occurred on the night of April 14 and before dawn on April 16, and two earthquakes with a maximum seismic intensity of 6 upper and 3 earthquakes with a maximum seismic intensity of 6 lower occurred.

24 January 2021, \nUrasa railway station in Niigata: This year those area had a heavy snowfall, and so massive snowstorms have dumped over 1.5m in the lone fortnight.  Transport and traffic were also at a standstill in Niigata prefecture with cars getting stuck, the snow also caused damage to electricity lines in railway too. The local train service was out service for more than one week. Those trains could not move in snow.
