Jeddah is a city oriented along the Red Sea and covers in total more than 70km; from the North with its Ports de Plaisance all the way to the South with its iconic King Fahd Fountain. At this prolonged seafront there is a promenade lined with palm trees called the Corniche. The Corniche counts numerous sculptures, kiosks, pavilions, playgrounds, picnic areas, hotels, beaches and famous mosques. As this promenade faces West, people flock to the open sea front and enjoy the marvellous and romantic sunsets.*The Island Mosque was originally built on a small island, especially created on the edge of a coral reef. Nowadays it is firmly locked to the mainland.

The Jaffali Mosque was designed and built in 1987 by the Egyptian architect Abdelwahed El-Wakil, making it not only one of the most famous mosques in Jeddah but also one of the earliest mosques in the city.

Our tour guide took us to the Sea Mosque, that is what he said, I think. It is known for the Floating Mosque in Jeddah and one of the sightseeing spots next to the ocean. Because of the tide, the mosque looks like it is floating over the red sea. It was right before the sunset and the color of the sky was changing to sunset mood.
