The lynx is a member of the Felinae subfamily of the cat family. In China, it is mainly found in the three northeastern provinces and the mountainous areas in the northwest. It is also distributed in Hebei, Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet, etc. In China, it is classified as a second-class protected animal.
