They are believed to have left Borno sometime between 1100 and 1350 AD. The Ngas themselves had come originally from Kanem and so became part of the pre-kanuri inhabitants of the plains Bornu, owning sheep and perhaps cattle but not a camel. Linguistically Ngas belongs to the Afro asiantic class called the Chadic group of languages. The Ngas people are hardworkng, industrious, selfless, trusted, reliable, and dependable people, and have at one point or other made their mark in different fields of human endeavors.

Today the San Bushmen are found only in the northwestern South Africa, northern Namibia and Botswana The bushmen are gatherer hunters living in very dry areas, their biggest stronghold is the Kalahari desert. Today the government don´t allow then to hunt anymore, so they normally lives on wild fruits and roots they can find in the bush.

They live in Hamer woreda (or district), a fertile part of the Omo River valley, in the Debub Omo Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region (SNNPR).
