Like Joseph's coat, it is characterised by having many colours, and together with its spreading shape it gains the common name turkey tail. Trametes versicolor is a polypore fungus that grows on dead trees and logs.

Habitat on dead deciduous trees, especially beech. Season all year (sporulating in late spring). Frequent. Not edible. Found In Europe.
