$Pangong Tso or Pangong Lake is an endorheic lake spanning eastern Ladakh and West Tibet situated at an elevation of 4.225 m. It is 134 km long and divided into five sublakes, called Pangong Tso, Tso Nyak, Rum Tso (twin lakes) and Nyak Tso. Approximately 50% of the length of the overall lake lies within Tibet in China, 40% in Ladakh, India and the remaining 10% is disputed and is a de facto buffer zone between India and China. The lake is 5 km wide at its broadest point. All together it covers almost 700 km2.\nTwo streams feed the lake from the Indian side, forming marshes and wetlands at the edges. In the sun, the lake is a deep shimmering blue and green backed by barren tan-colored mountains with snows depending on the season, the sight that is stunningly beautiful and pristine. Despite being saline water the lake freezes completely during the winter. The spectacular lakeside is open during the tourist season, from May to September.\nPangong Tso, Ladakh, India, Asia.$

Dhankar Lake is a high altitude lake in Spiti Valley, in the Himachal Pradesh state of India. At an elevation of 4,140 meters, it lies above the Dhankar monastery in the Lahaul-Spiti district, and can be approached by a trek from the monastery.

Aerial view of Lake Magadi Lake in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. Lake Magadi is the southernmost lake in the Kenyan Rift Valley, north of Tanzania's Lake Natron. The Rift Valley contains a chain of volcanoes, some of which are still active, and many other lakes such as the Turkana, Baringo, Bogoria and Nakuru. During the dry season Lake Magadi is 60% covered by soda and is known for its wading birds. During the rainy season, a thin layer of brine covers much of the saline pan, but this evaporates rapidly leaving a vast expanse of white salt that cracks to produce large polygons. The lake is recharged by saline hot springs that discharge into alkaline lagoons around the lake margins and is very rich in blue-green algae, which feed insects, small crustaceans and massive flocks of lesser flamingos (Phoenicoparrus minor). Altogether it forms a very peculiar mineral and colour-rich landscape. The lake is featured in film The Constant Gardener, which is based on the book of the same name by John le Carré although in the film the shots are supposed to be at Lake Turkana. Currently the area is inhabited by the cattle-herder Masai tribes, but the relics of many hominids have been found in the escarpments.

The view of the lake from the steep slopes along the edge is particularly beautiful. As this is a landslide lake its depth begins from zero and reaches 100 m in the deepest part. The lake lies about 100 m above sea level.

Salda Lake became famous as Maldives of Turkey with white sand.\nLake Salda is a mid-size crater lake in southwestern Turkey, within the boundaries of Yeşilova district of Burdur Province. It lies at a distance of about fifty kilometers to the west from the province seat Burdur.\nIts peculiar morphology has led to a number of academic studies conducted on Lake Salda. The unusual alkaline nature of the lake means that is one of the few locations where ancient stromatolite algae still grows.$
