Amanita muscaria (L. ex Fr.) Hooker, Fly Agaric, Amanite tue-mouches, Fausse Oronge Roter Fliegenpilz, Légyölö galoca. Cap 8–20cm across, globose or hemispherical at first then flattening, bright scarlet covered with distinctive white pyramidal warts which may be washed off by rain leaving the cap almost smooth and the colour fades. Stem 80–180×10–20mm, white, often covered in shaggy volval remnants as is the bulbous base, the white membranous ring attached to the stem apex sometimes becoming flushed yellow from the pigment washed off the cap. Flesh white, tinged red or yellow below the cap cuticle, Taste pleasant, smell faint. Gills free, white. Habitat usually with birch trees, Season late summer to late autumn. Common. Deadly poisonous. It contains many different toxins. Distribution, America and Europe (Source R. Phillips).

Stem 30–100×3–10mm, white striate above the membranous ring, slightly scaly below. Flesh thin, white. Habitat on the trunks of beech, often high up and in large clusters. Season late summer to late autumn. Common. Edible after washing to remove gluten. Found In Europe (source R. Phillips).This nice Species is quite common on Branches (till high on the Tree) and Trunks of Beech (Fagus sylvatica) in the Netherlands.

Russula aeruginea is a gregarious mushroom, usually occurring in small scattered groups.Cap: Pale to very pale grass green, and becoming progressively paler towards margin, the cap of Russula aeruginea peels half way to the centre; convex, flattening only in the centre, sometimes with a slight depression; greasy when moist; margin sometimes faintly grooved; 4 to 9cm across; surface not cracked.Gills: White, eventually turning yellow with age, the gills of the Green Brittlegill are adnexed and crowded.Stem: White, more or less cylindrical, sometimes tapering at the base; 4 to 8cm long, 0.7 to 2cm in diameter.Chemical tests : The flesh has a slow pink reaction to iron salts (FeSO4). : Spores:Ellipsoidal, 6-10 x 5-7μm (excluding spines); ornamented with rounded warts up to 0.7μm tall which are joined by a few fine lines to form a partial network.Spore print: CreamOdour/taste: Not distinctive.Season: July to October in Britain and Ireland. Distribution: A fairly common find in The Netherlands, Britain and Ireland, the Green Brittlegill occurs throughout mainland Europe and is reported from many other parts of the world including North America.
