The southern gannet in flight is a striking vision of grace and power. With a wingspan that can stretch over six feet, it glides effortlessly above the open sea, riding air currents with barely a beat of its long, narrow wings. Its snowy white plumage gleams in the sunlight, offset by jet-black wingtips that slice cleanly through the sky. From high above, the gannet scans the waves with piercing blue eyes, searching for the shimmer of fish beneath the surface. This is a bird built for flight and the hunt—elegant in the air, lethal in the dive.

The Avocet is a distinctively-patterned black and white wader with a long up-curved beak. Avocets are protected by the Schedule 1, which makes it an offence to disturb them. Its return to the UK in the 1940s and subsequent increase in numbers represents one of the most successful conservation and protection projects.

Nest of seaweed, on cliff-edge or steep slope.This nice Species is common in the North Sea area.

The Northern Gannet is a striking seabird with predominantly white plumage, contrasting black wingtips, and a pale yellow head. Its long, pointed bill is blue-grey and has distinctive blue eye-rings.
