Some Tropical Striped Triplefin Helcogramma striatum (4 cm = 1.6 inches) are there. A dive in Indonesia without them is quite rare! The Blue Flatworm Cycloporus venetus is well camouflaged on a Sea Squirt Clavelina sp., both his colors match perfectly. Cycloporus venetus occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific from India to Indonesia, north to Japan, south to Australia, max. length 5cm. Species determination amongst members of the genus Cycloporus is mostly based on colour and pattern, given that the internal reproductive anatomy is similar between species (Newman & Cannon, 2002). Distinguishing species of Cycloporus can be challenging since these animals tend to be transparent and the colour greatly depends on the content of the intestinal branches. However, Cycloporus venetus has a unique and diagnostic colour and pattern. Calavelina ascidians are colonial but not fully fused tunicates, meaning individual zooids are connected at the base but remain distinct. They are filter feeders, drawing in water through the oral siphon, extracting plankton, and expelling water through the atrial siphon. They play a role in marine ecosystems by filtering particles and providing habitat for small organisms. $Giant Barrel Sponge Xestospongia testudinaria occurs widely distributed in the tropical Indo-Pacific in a depth range from 2-50m. Specimen in the intertidal zones remain small with 10-20cm diameter, below they can grow to impressing sizes, measuring up to 2.4 meters in height and width. \nThe sponge is covered with several Sea Cucumbers Synaptula lamperti, found in the Western Pacific including the coasts of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Micronesia and the Philippines. The species is very common on coral reefs, both on the exposed and the inner slopes. It is a detrivore that specifically feeds on or around living sponges. \nConsidering the sea cucumbers maximum size of 20cm, the barrel sponge might extend more than 1m from the reef slope. \nBanda Island, Indonesia, 4°30'45.41 S 129°56'7.75 E at 13m depth$
