Skimmias are hardy evergreen shrubs and provide welcome colourful winter buds and fragrant spring flowers. They are fairly slow growing rounded shrubs with glossy neat foliage. Skimmias need a lime free soil and prefer shade or partial shade and are ideal for patio pots or where space is limited. Male forms bear flowers whilst female forms bear flowers and berries. Hermaphrodite varieties that produce both flowers and berries are also available.Related images:
