The pagoda is known for the octagonal shape of the base, which is carried over to the golden dome. During the British period, the city center was completely restructured and the pagoda served as the center. Since then, Sule Paya has served as a reference for kilometer distances to the north of the country. The temple has four entrances, oriented towards the four cardinal points. According to tradition, some Buddha 's hair is preserved inside.
