This is a collection of solder joints, showing something very specific which is ‘clinched’ joints. That is, where the components have their leads bent over before being soldered. This is done during high volume manufacturing as it stops the components falling out while being soldered, but makes removing the components later during servicing a very difficult and potentially damaging task.
