Kolkata, India - October 04, 2011: As the name suggests the Victoria Memorial is a memorial to Queen Victoria. This photograph is taken slightly at a tangent from the main entrance which can be clearly seen in the photo. Furthermore the foreground is one of the several water features which figure around the building. The water feature reflects the front facade and three corners of the Memorial. The shot was taken late morning with a perfectly clear blue sky and very little wind. Furthermore, the shot is clear of people. The angle of the photograph show the varied influences in the architectural styles deployed to give it that uniqueness which even today the Victoria Memorial enjoys despite its colonial past.

Victoria Memorial is one of the famous Historical Monument of Indian Architecture. It was built between 1906 and 1921 to commemorate Queen Victoria's 25 years reign in India located in Kolkata (Calcutta).

Taken on 26/12/2011 night from main entrance- The Victoria Memorial (Victoria Memorial Hall) is a large marble building in Kolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal, India which was built between 1906 and 1921. It is dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria (1819–1901) and is now a museum and tourist destination under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The Memorial lies on the Maidan (grounds) by the bank of the Hooghly river, near Jawaharlal Nehru road. King George V, laid the foundation stone on 4 January 1906 and it was formally opened to the public in 1921.
