Phacelia Distans is the botanical nomenclature for a gorgeous wildflower going by the common name Distant Scorpion Weed. Also known as Lace Leaf Phacelia, Distant Phacelia, or Blue Scorpion Weed. They can be realized proximate to the North Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park near 29 Palms. It shares similarities with another of the genus, Phacelia Crenulata (Notch Leaf Phacelia), however the flowers of P. Distans have slightly lighter shades of blue.

These are some of the bright wildflowers blooming in the spring in California. Spotted these near a walking path in Encinitas CA. Bright purples and whites. This one also shows a roadsign pointed toward the freeway.
