The Bad Lands in South Dakota have many great views almost everywhere you look and when under a cloudy sky the landscape views are extra unique and on this June day it was like a postcard.
Rocks that once held down the edges of a Native American teepee remain in a circle, sunken into the soil with time where they were left on the prairie. The teepee ring sits on the hilly plains of South Dakota north of Sturgis.

Phyrigian Mounds\nA wide area in the vicinity of Gordion is full of mounds in varying sizes dating back to the period between the last quarter of the 8th century BC and the middle of the 6th century BC. The mounds are the tombs of the Phrygian nobles and notables. The Great Mound, which is the second biggest mound of Turkey with its height of 55m and a diameter of 300m, has a magnificent appearance.

Large and unique rock formation at Explorers National Monument called Pompeii's Pillar where famous explorer William Clark of Lewis and Clark, inscribed his name in stone. The monument sits beside the Yellowstone River which Clark used to travel back east after completing the exploratory journey to the Pacific Ocean. Theodore Roosevelt National Park lies where the Great Plains meet the rugged Badlands near Medora, North Dakota, USA. The park's 3 units, linked by the Little Missouri River is a habitat for bison, elk and prairie dogs. The park's namesake, President Teddy Roosevelt once lived in the Maltese Cross Cabin which is now part of the park. The buffalo jump was used by numerous Native American tribes to stamped herds of bison off the cliff without aid of horses or guns.  They would then clean and use each and every part of the bison.  Area background against blue cloud sky and surrounded by dry tall various brown grasses and rocks.
Datong, Shanxi, China- March 2, 2013: Tulin (earth forest), located in Datong consists of hundreds of soil pillars and walls tens to more than ten meters high. The “earth forest” refers to the landscape consisting of protrusive loess and grit sediment due to crustal movement as well as wind and water erosion. Here is the earth forest view in Datong.
