The circular WW One Memorial for Belgian King Albert I stands at the collection of sea locks, opened to flood the hinterland and stop the German army, provoking four years of trench warfare along the Yser River. The King was the commander in chief of the Belgian army. Blue sky reflected in the water.
This high-resolution photo shows the Eidersperrwerk, a flood protection dam located on the Eider river in Germany. The massive concrete structure stands tall against the backdrop of a clear blue sky, with the calm waters of the river flowing behind it. The Eidersperrwerk serves as a vital component of the region's flood control system, protecting the surrounding communities from the dangers of rising water levels. This photograph would be a suitable addition to any project related to civil engineering, flood prevention, or infrastructure.

The Pennyfield Lock has been restored on the C&O Canal and appears in working order except for the leakage. Otherwise, yet another C&O Canal picture in the heat of summer. But it is chained and padlocked, I mean a locked lock, couldn't resist.
